Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will not return this season due to his foot injury, coach Jonathan Gannon announced Friday.

Murray sustained the mid-foot sprain in his right foot in Week 5. Gannon said Murray hasn’t healed well.

“He wasn’t progressing in a way that we wanted, so we went and got a different opinion, some different people, and [Murray’s foot] is just not right,” Gannon told reporters.

Jacoby Brissett, who has been the Cardinals’ starting quarterback since Week 6, will keep that role for the remainder for the season. The 10-year veteran completed 67.5% of his throws for 2,188 yards, 13 scores and four interceptions through nine appearances this season, including seven starts.

Murray completed 68.3% of his throws for 962 yards, six scores and three interceptions through a career-low five starts. He also ran for 173 yards and a score.

The Cardinals (3-9), who are on a four-game losing streak, will also be without wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Greg Dortch in Week 14. They have the No. 8 passing offense in the NFL.

Brissett and the Cardinals will host the Los Angeles Rams (9-3) at 4:25 p.m.. EST Sunday in Glendale, Ariz.
