Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice accepted a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Sources told NFL Network, ESPN and The Athletic about the settlement, which is still being finalized, on Wednesday.

The ban stems from Rice’s conviction for causing a chain-reaction car collision last year in Dallas. Last month, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilt to two third-degree felonies — collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury.

Rice and the league were to participate in a Sept. 30 disciplinary hearing for the matter prior to the settlement. The league initially proposed a double-digit game suspension for Rice, prompting the hearing.

The Chiefs will now be without one of their top offensive weapons for the first six games of their 2025 campaign. They will start the regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Jason Brownlee are the other wide receivers are the 53-man roster.

Rice will be eligible to return for a Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 19 in Kansas City, Mo.
