Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin will not play against the Atlanta Falcons, coach Dan Quinn announced Friday.

Daniels, who also sat out in Week 3, will miss his second consecutive start due to a left knee sprain he sustained in Week 2. McLaurin injured a right quad in the third quarter of the Commanders’ 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in Landover, Md.

Veteran backup Marcus Mariota is to start against the Falcons on Sunday in Atlanta. He completed 15 of 21 passes for 207 yards and a score against the Raiders. He also ran for 40 yards and a score.

McLaurin, who totaled 74 yards on three catches against the Raiders, logged 10 catches for 149 yards through his first three starts this season. Chris Moore, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane are among the backup wide receivers listed behind McLaurin, Noah Brown and Deebo Samuel on the Commanders’ depth chart.

Brown is also out in Week 4 because of knee and groin injuries.

Josh Johnson is the Commanders’ third-string quarterback. Sam Hartman, the Commanders’ practice squad quarterback, could be promoted as the emergency option in Week 4.

Daniels completed 59.7% of his throws for 433 yards and three touchdowns through his first two starts this season. The 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl selection also ran for 85 yards so far in 2025.

The Falcons and Raiders will kick off at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Atlanta.
