The Miami Dolphins and All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract extension, a league source told UPI on Monday.
The pact includes $35 million in guarantees. Brooks, 28, led the NFL with 183 combined tackles and 99 solo takedowns in 2025.
The six-year veteran joined the Dolphins with a three-year, $26.2 million deal in 2024, which Brooks and Miami restructured last year.
He was set to play on the final year of that agreement. He will now be the fifth highest-paid off-ball linebacker in the NFL.
Brooks, the No. 27 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He led the NFL with 109 solo tackles in 2021. Brooks totaled 839 combined tackles and 494 solo takedowns through the first 97 appearances of his NFL career.
Brooks’ pact is the third major extension handed out this off-season by the Dolphins. They previous signed running back De’Von Achane to a four-year, $64 million deal and center Aaron Brewer to a three-year, $52.5 million pact.
Dolphins rookies reported for training camp Tuesday in Miami Gardens, Fla. Veterans will report July 28 to the Baptist Health Training Complex.
The Dolphins will take on the Washington Commanders in their preseason opener Aug. 14 in Landover, Md. They will play the Los Vegas Raiders in their regular-season opener Sept. 13 in Las Vegas.
