Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni called the notion of benching of Jalen Hurts “ridiculous,” when asked about the struggling quarterback.

Sirianni made the comments during his weekly radio appearance on 94 WIP in Philadelphia. He said Hurts is “absolutely” the Eagles’ Week 15 starter.

Hurts threw 16 touchdown passes and just one interception through the Eagles’ first 10 games this season, leading to an 8-2 start. He totaled three touchdown passes, five interceptions and two fumbles during the Eagles’ active three-game losing streak.

But Sirianni shut down the idea of moving the quarterback to the bench at any point this season, despite his struggles.

“No, I think that’s ridiculous,” Sirianni said. “I know every time I go out on that field with Jalen Hurts as our quarterback, we have a chance to win the game. That’s something that’s been proven. We’ve won a lot of football games.

“This is the most ultimate team game. You win together as a team, you lose together as a team. It’s never just one thing.”

Tanner McKee and Sam Howell are the other quarterbacks on the Eagles’ roster. Kyle McCord is their practice squad quarterback. Howell has the most experience (18 starts) among the backups.

Hurts completed 64.7% of his throws for 2,854 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions through 13 starts this season. He also ran for 337 yards and eight scores.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl LIX MVP completed 68.7% of his throws for 2,903 yards, 18 scores and five interceptions last season. He also ran for 630 yards and 14 scores in 2024.

Pro Football Focus gave Hurts the eighth-best rating among quarterbacks who played at least 50% of the maximum dropbacks at the position through 14 weeks this season. He also received the eighth-best passing grade. In 2023, the outlet ranked Hurts 18th in offensive rating and 23rd in passing grade.

The Eagles, who went 14-3 last season to win the NFC East division title before capturing a Lombardi Trophy, sit atop the division again in 2025. They currently hold the No. 3 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles, who have had a Top-10 rushing attack each year from 2020 through 2024, including a Top-5 unit three times during that span, rank No. 22 in rushing this season. They also rank 22nd defensively, after allowing the fewest yards in the NFL last season.

Hurts and the Eagles (8-5) will host the Las Vegas Raiders (2-11) at 1 p.m. EST Sunday in Philadelphia.
