Former NFL star Antonio Brown was released Thursday from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami on $25,000 bail, Miami-Dade County court records show.
Brown, 37, pleaded not guilty to a second-degree attempted murder charge and was granted bail Wednesday. Circuit judge Mindy Glazer ordered him to wear a GPS ankle monitor and placed him on low-level house arrest as he awaits trail.
A Miami-Dade County judge signed an arrest warrant for Brown in June, charging him with attempt murder with a firearm. The matter relates to a May 17 incident, chronicled on social media with videos and posts, which occurred outside a boxing event in Miami hosted by influencer Adin Ross.
Videos appeared to show Brown holding a gun before gunshots were heard. Brown said he was the victim of an attempt robbery. Police briefly detained him at the time, but he was released hours later when they were unable to find a victim.
U.S. Marshals arrested Brown last week in Dubai. He was extradited Tuesday from Essex County, N.J., to Miami to be tried for attempted murder.
Brown faces a prison sentence of up to 15 years and potential fine of $10,000 if convicted.
The seven-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time first-team All-Pro spent nine of his 12 NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brown, who also played for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ranks 25th in NFL history with 928 receptions. His 12,291 yards and 83 receiving touchdowns rank No. 28 and 27, respectively. His 84.2 receiving yards per game are the fifth most in NFL history.
