The Houston Texans agreed to a record three-year, $150 million contract extension with All-Pro pass rusher Will Anderson Jr., sources told UPI on Friday.

Anderson’s pact, which includes $134 million in guarantees, will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The Texans picked up the fifth-year option on Anderson’s rookie deal, worth $21.5 million, earlier this off-season. His new extension will keep him under contract through 2030.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection and 2025 first-team All-Pro totaled 54 combined tackles, 20 tackles for a losses and a career-high 12 sacks over 17 starts last season.

Anderson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, also totaled career-highs in passes defensed (three), forced fumbles (three) and fumble recoveries (two), including one for a score, last season.

The 2023 Defensive Rookie of the Year, logged 64 quarterback hits, 46 tackles for a loss and 30 sacks through his first three seasons.

Anderson’s Texans start their off-season training program Monday in Houston. They will start organized team activities May 27. Mandatory minicamp will be held June 9 to 11.
