The Detroit Lions agreed to trade wide receiver Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, a league source told UPI on Wednesday.
Patrick was listed as a starter alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams on the Lions’ unofficial depth chart. If he passes a physical to complete the transaction, Patrick will enter a Jaguars wide receivers room that includes Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter Jr., Dyami Brown, Parker Washington and Austin Trammell.
Dominic Lovett, Kalif Raymond and Isaac TeSlaa joined St. Brown, Williams and Patrick as the six wide receivers who made the Lions’ active roster Tuesday, when the NFL required teams to reduce personnel to 53 players.
Patrick, 31, was an undrafted free agent when he signed in 2018. He played for several teams before making his debut with the Denver Broncos. The eighth-year pass catcher totaled 176 catches for 2,403 yards and 15 scores over the first 71 appearances of his NFL career.
The Broncos released Patrick last August, one day before he signed with the Lions. Patrick, who missed the 2022 and 2023 seasons due to injuries, totaled 33 catches for 394 yards and three scores over 16 appearances in 2024.
The Lions will face the Green Bay Packers in their regular-season opener Sept. 7 in Green Bay, Wis. The Jaguars will host the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 7 in Jacksonville, Fla.
