A U.S. Marine has died from injuries sustained during what officials are calling “a tactical vehicle mishap” during routine training in California.
Little information about the Marine and the incident has been made public.
According to a statement from I Marine Expeditionary Force, the incident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. PDT at Camp Pendleton.
The unidentified Marine was assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force.
“The cause of the incident is currently under investigation,” I MEF said.
Comprised of about 53,000 Marines and sailors, I MEF is the U.S. Marine Corps’ largest Marine/Air Ground Task Force and is stationed at four bases, including Camp Pendleton, according to its website.
