The Minnesota Vikings agreed to a trade with the Carolina Panthers that will reunite them with wide receiver Adam Thielen, the teams announced Wednesday.

The Panthers are to send Thielen, a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round selection.

Thielen, 35, signed with the Panthers in 2023. He spent his first nine seasons with the Vikings, where he evolved from an undrafted free agent into a two-time Pro Bowl selection.

The 11-year veteran totaled 103 catches for 1,014 yards and four scores over 17 starts in his first season with the Panthers. He hauled in 48 catches for 615 yards and five scores in 2024. Thielen missed seven games last season due to a hamstring injury.

He will add depth to a Vikings wide receivers room dealing with the three-game suspension of starter Jordan Addison and a series of injuries to other playmakers.

Thielen was listed as a starter alongside Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette on the Panthers’ initial depth chart. Jalen Coker, David Moore, Brycen Tremayne and Jimmy Horn Jr., join McMillan and Legette as the remaining wide receivers on the Panthers’ roster.

Thielen will share a wide receivers’ room with star pass catcher Justin Jefferson, Jalen Nailor, Tim Jones, Tai Felton and Myles Price while Addison serves his suspension.

The Vikings will play the Chicago Bears in their season opener Sept. 8 in Chicago. The Panthers will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 7 in Jacksonville, Fla.
