Nearly 2 dozen church crew injured in Southern California bus crash

A bus that overturned left nearly two dozen injured in Southern California during the overnight hours.
The bus crash took place Sunday night in the San Bernardino mountain area around 8:50 p.m. PST near mile marker 38 between Highland and Running Springs on California’s Highway 330, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department.
“The remainder of the passengers suffered minor injuries and were not transported or reported no injury at all,” officials said on social media.
The scores of passengers reportedly attended a church event and were on the return trip to their church in Santa Ana when the accident occurred.
Fredalba (Final): Incident command terminated, units being released. Aboard the bus were a total of 36 persons, including adults and teens.

Around 20 of the 36 passengers on board the overturned bus sustained injuries. They were transported to local hospital, they added.
Firefighters said three crash victims saw severe injury. Meanwhile, it’s unclear what led to the crash.
The rescue was a joint effort with San Bernardino National Forest workers and the Big Bear, Arrowbear and Running Springs fire departments.
But rescuers said the bus was the only vehicle involved in the accident as investigators work with the California Highway Patrol to determine cause.
California’s highway patrol officers urged drivers to use alternate routes like SR-18 as its closed down the road to continue its investigation.
The road was back open as of Monday.
In September, a multi-vehicle crash on a California highway near Irwindale near Los Angeles caused a semi truck’s trailer to rip open, spilling beer cans and kegs across the roadway.
