The New York Jets will start rookie quarterback Brady Cook on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, coach Aaron Glenn announced Friday.

Cook, an undrafted free agent signing, completed 14 of 30 passes for 163 yards and two interceptions in relief of injured quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the Jets’ Week 14 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Taylor, who is dealing with a groin injury, has not practiced this week. Former Jets starter Justin Fields, who is experiencing knee soreness, also was held out. Glenn officially ruled out both quarterbacks on Friday.

“This week, he has had a chance to get all the reps with the ones [first team], gotten a chance to communicate with the offensive line, the receivers, the tight ends, with the coaching staff, with exactly how we want to go about playing this game,” Glenn said of Cook.

“I have all the confidence in the world.”

Adrian Martinez, the Jets’ practice squad quarterback, will serve as Cook’s backup against the Jaguars.

The Jaguars (9-4) will host the Jets (3-10), who lost three of their last four games, at 1 p.m. EST Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.
