Omarion Hampton, Kyler Murray among injured in NFL’s Week 5

Omarion Hampton and Kyler Murray were among the NFL players injured in Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season. Those hurt will be evaluated throughout the week.
Hampton injured his left ankle in the third quarter of the Los Angeles Chargers’ 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday in Inglewood, Calif. He was seen wearing a walking boot after the game and was to undergo tests on his ankle Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Defensive end Da’Shawn Hand (groin), offensive linemen Trey Pipkins (knee) and Mehki Becton (hand) also sustained injuries. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh did not provide any updates on the injured players.
Hampton logged 70 yards from scrimmage on 18 touches before his exit. The No. 22 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft totaled 450 yards from scrimmage, including 314 on the ground, and two touchdowns through the first five appearances of his career.

Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal played behind Hampton on Sunday. Vidal logged 19 yards from scrimmage on five touches. Haskins totaled 15 yards from scrimmage on six touches.
The Chargers elevated Vidal from their practice squad for Sunday’s game. Amar Johnson is the only other running back on the practice squad.
The Chargers (3-2) will face the Miami Dolphins (1-4) on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla. The Commanders (3-2) will host the Chicago Bears (2-2) in Week 6.
The Dolphins lost linebacker Tyrel Dodson (head) and cornerback Cornell Armstrong (hamstring) to injuries in their 27-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C.
Panthers (2-3) will host the Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1) in Week 6.
The Cowboys lost linebacker Jack Sanborn to a concussion in their 37-22 win over the New York Jets on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray sustained a foot injury in the third quarter of a 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He returned to the game a few players later, but told reporters “we gotta see” when asked about the issue at his postgame news conference.
Murray completed 23 of 31 passes for 220 yards. He also ran for 25 yards and a score. Cardinals backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett failed to complete his lone pass attempt in relief of Murray. Kedon Slovis is the Cardinals’ practice squad quarterback.
Cardinals linebacker Cody Simon (knee) and tight end Tip Reiman (ankle) also sustained injuries. The Titans lost linebacker Arden Key to a thigh injury.
The Cardinals (2-3) will face the Indianapolis Colts (4-1) in Week 5. The Titans (1-4) will battle the Las Vegas Raiders (1-4) on Sunday in Las Vegas.
Colts kicker Spencer Shrader hurt a knee in the second quarter of their 40-6 win over the Raiders. He did not return. Shrader made two extra-point attempts, but did not attempt a field goal.
The Colts also lost cornerback Mike Hilton (shoulder) and defensive tackle Grover Stewart (bicep) also sustained injuries. Colts coach Shane Steichen told reporters that “it doesn’t look good” for Shrader.
Raiders punter A.J. Cole sustained a right ankle injury and was carted to the locker room.
Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano sustained a pectoral injury and did not return during a 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots. He logged six combined tackles in the loss.
Patriots running back Antonio Gibson sustained a knee injury and did not return. He totaled seven touches for 26 yards in the victory. Gibson, who returns kicks for the Patriots, sustained the injury in the second quarter and did not return.
The Patriots (3-2) will battle the New Orleans Saints (1-4) in Week 6. The Bills (4-1) will face the Atlanta Falcons (2-2).
Saints safety Justin Reid sustained a concussion and was ruled out during a 26-14 win over the New York Giants on Sunday in New Orleans. The Giants lost linebacker Swayze Bozeman (ankle) and wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring).
The Giants (1-4) will host the Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) on Thursday in East Rutherford, N.J.
The Eagles lost guard Landon Dickerson (ankle) and tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) to injuries during a 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Philadelphia.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz hurt his left shoulder in the second quarter of a 21-17 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in London. Wentz returned to the game in the third quarter.
He completed 25 of 34 passes for 236 yards and a score. Running back Cam Akers also threw a 32-yard touchdown pass.
Fellow Vikings running back Jordan Mason sustained a quad contusion, but also returned to the game. He ran for 52 yards and a score on 13 carries.
The Vikings (3-2) and Houston Texans (2-3) are on bye in Week 6. The Browns (1-4) will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1), who were on bye in Week 5, on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (neck) and cornerback Terrion Arnold (shoulder) and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall (oblique) and cornerback Tariq Woolen (concussion) were among the other players injured in Week 5.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) will host the Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) in the NFL’s Week 5 finale at 8:15 p.m. EDT Monday in Jacksonville, Fla.
