Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders fire offensive coordinator Chip Kelly

The Las Vegas Raiders, who own one of the worst offensives in the NFL, fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, coach Pete Carroll announced.
Carroll announced the move Sunday night, after the Raiders’ 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
“I spoke with Chip Kelly earlier this evening and informed him of his release as offensive coordinator of the Raiders,” Carroll wrote in a statement. “I would like to thank Chip for his service and wish him all the best in the future.”
The Raiders scored 16 points or fewer in six of 11 games this season, including each of their last three. They totaled the second-fewest points and third-fewest yards in the NFL through 12 weeks.
The Raiders own the second-worst rushing attack and totaled the eighth-fewest passing yards so far this season. Just 28.7% of their drives have ended with points, the third-worst rate in the NFL. They also rank third-worst in plays and yards per drive and totaled the third-most interceptions.

The Raiders also produced one of the league’s worst offensives last season, while Kelly served as an offensive coordinator at Ohio State, totaling the sixth-fewest yards. The 2024 Raiders owned the worst rushing attack in the NFL.
The 2025 Raiders (2-9), who started the season with a win over the now 10-2 New England Patriots, are now on a five-game losing streak. They will face the Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC West divisional matchup at 4:25 p.m. EST Sunday in Inglewood, Calif.
