The San Francisco 49ers and starting right tackle Colton McKivitz agreed to a three-year, $45 million contract extension.

Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and NBC Sports Bay Area about the agreement Monday morning. McKivitz’s pact includes $27 million guaranteed and ties him to the 49ers through the 2028 season.

McKivitz, 29, joined the 49ers as a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He started every game for the 49ers in 2023 and 2024. He appeared in 62 games through his first five seasons, including 39 starts.

The 49ers (1-0), who beat the Seattle Seahawks (0-1) in their season opener Sunday in Seattle, will face the New Orleans Saints (0-1) in their second game Sunday in New Orleans.
