Seattle Seahawks rushers gashed grass and swallowed the New England Patriots offense for a dominant Super Bowl LX victory Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
The Seahawks sacked Drake Maye six times, snatched two interceptions and forced a fumble from the Patriots quarterback in the 29-13 triumph in Santa Clara, Calif.
“They lived up to the ‘Dark Side’ today,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said on the NBC broadcast. “It’s going to go down in the history books.
“We love our players. They made it happen. They made it come to life.”
With the win, the Seahawks (17-3) kept the Patriots (17-4) from winning a record seventh title while avenging their Super Bowl loss to the same foes in 2015.

Defensive tackle Byron Murphy and linebacker Derick Hall logged two sacks apiece in the lopsided triumph. Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu scored on a 45-yard interception return.
Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III, who was named Super Bowl LX MVP, shedded arm tackles and ran through defenders en route to 161 yards from scrimmage. Kicker Jason Myers made a Super Bowl record five field goals.
“When you have a game plan, you know what you are going to do,” cornerback Devon Witherspoon told reporters. “You know how you are going to execute it. You just got to go out there and play ball. That’s what makes us who we are. We trust each other to go out there and do our thing.”
Macdonald brought relentless waves of pressure, forcing the Patriots’ edge protection to crumble almost immediately. The Seahawks leaned on Walker’s legs for the majority of the night, grinding down the clock when their defense wasn’t on the field.
Myers was responsible for the only points of the first half, with field goals from 33, 39 and 41 yards to give the Seahawks a 9-0 lead at the break.
He added his fourth field goal of the night — another 41-yarder — on the Seahawks’ first drive of the second half. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold threw a 16-yard pass to tight end A.J. Barner 1:32 into the fourth quarter for the first touchdown of the night.
Maye connected with wide receiver Mack Hollins for a 35-yard score on the next drive. Myers added his fifth field goal with 5:38 remaining.
Nwosu scored on his 45-yard interception return on the next possession to help the Seahawks push their lead to 29-7. Maye flipped a 7-yard touchdown pass to running back Rhamondre Stevenson with 2:21 remaining for the final points of the night.

Darnold completed 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards and a score. Maye completed just 27 of 43 passes for 295 yards, two scores and two interceptions, in addition to his fumble.
Seahawks safety Julian Love logged an interception. Hall and Murphy registered a forced fumble and fumble recovery, respectively, in addition to their two sacks apiece. Cornerback Devon Witherspoon and defensive end Rylie Mills also recorded sacks in the victory.
“We never wavered,” Macdonald said. “We believed in each other. We loved each other and now we are world champions.”
