President Donald Trump will give a primetime speech on Thursday evening to discuss election security as he teases a “big announcement.”

The president is expected to share information that he has received from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence during Thursday’s speech, ABC News, CBS News and The New York Times report citing unnamed sources. That information is said to be related to the 2020 election which he lost to former President Joe Biden.

Trump’s speech is scheduled for 9 p.m. EDT.

“Thursday is, it doesn’t get bigger because without free and fair elections, you don’t have a country,” Trump said when asked by reporters about the speech. “We’ll be discussing other things too, but — but it’s going to be a very big announcement.”

Trump has appointed Bill Pulte to serve as interim director of the Department of National Intelligence after ousting Tulsi Gabbard last month. Pulte, an ardent Trump loyalist, is a former director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. He has no prior experience in the field of government intelligence.

When appointing Pulte, Trump said “you may find out some things about the rigged elections.”

The president has focused on election laws as November’s midterms draw nearer. Among his election related goals are the passage of the SAVE Act to require documentary proof of citizenship to vote and the elimination of mail-in voting.
