The Washington Commanders agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $3.8 million with free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas, a league source told UPI on Monday.
Douglas, 30, spent last season with the Miami Dolphins. The nine-year veteran logged 62 total tackles, 13 passes defensed, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a sack over 15 appearances in 2025-26.
Douglas started 15 games in 2024 for the Buffalo Bills. He registered 58 combined tackles, five passes defensed and a forced fumble that season.
The third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft spent his first three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also played for the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.
Douglas made 135 appearances, including 93 starts, over the first nine years of his career.
The Commanders allowed the fifth-most passing yards in the NFL last season. Pro Football Focus gave Douglas the 16th-best defensive rating among cornerbacks who were in for at least 50% of the maximum snaps played at the position in 2025-26.
He will join a Commanders cornerbacks room that includes Trey Amos, Mike Sainristil and Ahkello Witherspoon.
Commanders veterans will report to training camp July 28 in Ashburn, Va.
