Lisa Jeanine Findley on Tuesday pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud for falsely claiming Lisa Marie Presley defaulted on a loan and used the Graceland mansion as collateral.

Findley, 53, is a resident of Kimberly, Mo., and faces up to 20 years in prison for creating a fake company, forging financial documents and making false court filings seeking to gain possession of Elvis Presley’s former Graceland mansion home in Memphis, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday. Findley threatened to foreclose on Graceland and auction it to the highest bidder if Presley’s family did not pay off the bogus loan or otherwise settle the matter.

Findley claimed Lisa Marie Presley borrowed $3.8 million with Graceland securing the loan and produced fake loan documents containing a forged signature and fake notary stamp as evidence to support her claim against the Graceland estate.

Lisa Marie Presley died in 2023 at age 54 and Findley tried to foreclose on the loan and force an auction sale of Graceland to collect payment for the bogus loan.

Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter, actress Riley Keough, challenged the pending foreclosure in the Shelby County (Tenn.) Chancery Court. Advertisement

Judge JoeDae Jenkins ruled the supporting documents filed by Findley were fraudulent after finding several irregularities.

The documents were attributed to an alleged Florida company named Naussany Investments and claimed the loan was made in 2018.

The documents only listed a P.O. box for the alleged lender’s address, and no representative appeared in court to argue the legitimacy of the claimed loan.

Findley was not identified until well after Judge Jenkins ruled the loan documents were fake and advised Keough to pursue criminal charges against the offending party.

The case was reported internationally after an unidentified party claimed to be from Nigeria.

Investigators eventually tied the fraud to Findley, and law enforcement arrested her on several related charges in August.

Findley has a sentencing hearing scheduled June 18 in the U.S. District Court for Western Tennessee in Memphis.

Elvis Presley died at the Graceland mansion on Aug. 16, 1977, and his former home has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.
