Infant's remains found in Electric Forest music festival restroom

Michigan State Police confirmed Monday that the remains of a newborn infant were found in a restroom at the Electric Forest music festival in Michigan.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in the case.

“Michigan State Police can confirm that the body of a neonate was found in a portable restroom in the camping area at the Electric Forest festival Sunday morning,” MSP Sixth District posted on social media. “The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance. This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no further information to share at this time and there is no known threat to the public.”

Electric Forest is a four-day music festival that concluded on Sunday. It was held at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Mich., which is about 60 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

Performances at the festival on Sunday included Illenium, Excision, Kaskade and The String Cheese Incident.
