Google celebrates the launch of Artemis II with a Doodle

Google’s Doodle Wednesday celebrates the launch of Artemis II.

The historic mission will send astronauts around the moon and back for the first time in over 50 years. The voyage is set to take approximately 10 days.

The crew plans to go deeper into space than any human has since the Apollo program.

The Artemis II crew includes Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, Commander Reid Wiseman and Pilot Victor Glover.

NASA’s Artemis II mission is scheduled to lift off from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canveral, Fla., Wednesday. The two-hour launch window starts at 6:24 p.m. EDT.
